Throughout the life of the program, First 5 LA has invested in a series of studies to understand the Welcome Baby program. In 2020, in response to the global pandemic, Welcome Baby programs transitioned to virtual home visits through video and phone calls.
First 5 LA has partnered with the American Institutes for Research (AIR), Georgetown University, and Juárez & Associates to conduct the Welcome Baby Study to understand the implementation of Welcome Baby through virtual visits and outcomes for mothers participating in the program and their babies.
